Established in 2006, Homeland Security Consultants, LLC, located in Washington DC, has a core focus on providing information assurance and cyber-security services to financial, government, and commercial organizations, on a national and international scale. Homeland Security Consultants is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Concern (SDVO SBC). Our members are recognized for providing innovated cyber-security solutions to address industry needs. Our mission is to safeguard industry from new and emerging cyberspace threats.
We will not say we are number 1 in the industry as competitors might tout, since there is no established metric to make that claim. What we will say is that Homeland Security Consultants is distinguished within the field of cyber security. Our consultants have published patents, written texts, published articles, received recognition, developed innovative technologies, and contributed to White House reports and the NIST 800 series, in addition to Cloud and SOA architectures; just to name a few accomplishments. The list keeps growing and will continue to do so. Our CEO has over 25 years of mission critical systems development experience spanning all aspects from development and operations to acquisition. He has worked for over two years in the field of Service Oriented Architecture for DoD, contributing to SOAPatterns.org and participating in the Soaschool.com training. With the advent of Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 12, he led the effort to integrate an identity management system with the DHS smart card solution to meet the October 27, 2006 deadline to issue the first Personal Identity Verification cards.
The last 8 years have been in the field of Information Assurance (IA), pioneering Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems and large scale Public Key Enabling (PKE) solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He Led development of DHS Office of CIO Smart Card Program including development of OMB 300, Acquisition Plan, Fiscal Year Homeland Security Planning (FYHSP) process, coordination with the Engineering Review Group (ERG) and coordination with DHS Components. He led system integration of Microsoft Certification Authority into a Level 3 Assurance, Federal Bridge compliant PKI for DHS.
Our CEO volunteered for the Naval Flight Program. He was designated a Naval Aviator and volunteered for Helicopter Mine Countermeasures 12 on its way to clear mines in Haiphong Harbor, Vietnam.
Our COO is currently working as the security lead for a $68.5 million dollar technical infrastructure upgrade for the US-VISIT IDENT system. Previously he served as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the ICISS system. He was responsible for the Certification and Accreditation of the system, which was given Authority to Operate (ATO). Before accepting ISSO responsibilities, he worked on the systems integration team as a security engineer for the first generation PIV Card Issuance Station for DHS.
He has worked on projects for the Department of Homeland Security, National Capital Region First Responders, General Services Administration, Department of Defense, Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer, and Naval Supply Systems Command.
